Diamondbacks Baseball Camp, First Of Five Practices
Even though The Arizona Diamondbacks season is done, for me, it's not. I may or may not have mentioned, that this November, I'm attending a 1 week Baseball Camp, run by The Diamondbacks. For 1 week in November, I am going to live, eat sleep and play baseball as a member of the Diamondbacks. Uniforms and everything. It's something that I've always wanted to do, and I figured I better do it while I still can..... Ya know?
So what, if anything does this have to do with The Golden Glovers? I got a $100 fee discount for being a Glover, that's what. 😁
Anyway, I've actually been training since the beginning of September, that's what all those wind sprint runs, baseball throwing and batting cage visits has been about. Getting ready to at least not make a fool of myself, but I needn't have worried, so far, it seems to be all about the fun. There's a good mix of people and ages, and there's even one guy who said he was 88 years old! I think he's going to D.H. 😁
So, without further ado, I hereby present, Diamondbacks, Baseball Camp, First Of Five, Pre-Camp On The Field Practices! Results And Learnings From Today's Baseball Practice:
* I'm calling today's practice "successful". I made good bat contact, and several contacts would have been hits.
* I played left field and 3rd base. I made several good fielding plays, and my throws were "mostly" on target, if not fast, but accuracy first, strength later, so all good.
* I need a wood baseball bat! No aluminum bats allowed! Old School Baby!
* My previously sprained right wrist was fine. No pain at all..
* The Diamondbacks Coaches will be pitching, so I expect, there will be fat meatball pitches right where I want them. A tiny bit low, and outside.
* I was a bit winded after the 2 hours of play, but otherwise, Good Job Today Campers! Play On!
