My Second Season As A Golden Glover..... And My Last.

So, today, is my first game of my second season as a Diamondbacks Golden Glover, and I've spent a bit of time this morning reminiscing about my rookie season, and preparing for my veterans season..... and my last season. No, it's not my choice, it's The Diamondbacks rules. The first year, you're a rookie, the second year you're a veteran, then you're out. It's a maximum 2 year job.

It didn't use to be that way, prior to last year, once you made the team, you could pretty much be a GG as many seasons as you wanted. I know for a fact that one of the veterans from last year was doing their 7th season! And, if you've been following my stories, you know that I actually tried out for The Glovers 5 TIMES (years) before making the team. If I had made the team my first try, this would have been my 7th season. Bad luck timing I guess.

And You know what really "gets me"? I actually agree with the rule change decision. The DBacks obviously want to give more people a chance to be a Glover, which is natural, because as I've learned, being a Golden Glover has truly been the best thing that's ever happened to me. They want more people to have this amazing experience, and even though it kind of sucks for me, it's probably a decision I would have made in their place. So, I guess there's only one thing to do....

I intend to make this season my best season ever! I want to make it so Amazing, that management will be talking about "Remember that time that Golden Glover Tom did that thing"..... will become a part of Diamondbacks lore. So get ready friends and fans, The Tom Hoey Golden Glover Tsunami is coming your way! GO DBACKS!
